Rotary is a non-governmental organization that has been operating since 1905 and also has consultative rights in the United Nations.
It currently has 1.2 million members.
The purpose of Rotary is selfless service based on friendship to promote social solidarity and support communities. Its motto is:

There are more than 35,000 Rotary clubs in nearly 200 countries around the world. The clubs are free from religious, political and ethnic discrimination and are open to all cultures.
